DESIGN / VISUAL IDENTITY: Revamping Heritage Toronto's logo, tagline, and identity
Led revamp of Heritage Toronto's visual identity: Engaged Board, Executive Director, Marketing Committee, and an external creative firm:
- Square represents diversity of Toronto.
- 'People. Places. Events.' tagline helps people understand that our programming and reason for existing are rooted in how we connect people to place through events.
- Because we cover architectural, cultural, archaeological, and natural heritage, we needed a new look (the previous logo gave the misleading impression that we only cover architectural heritage).
- Many different coloured squares were integral to the branding for staffing reasons: We were a small Marketing team with very few design resources, and being able to use various colours as photo overlays on our marketing materials allowed for simple yet compelling and eye-catching designs.
